Metal Detecting in Kuwait

Kuwait’s Antiquities Law makes it clear that owning land does not give someone the right to excavate for antiquities or freely dispose of antiquities found there. The law also establishes state ownership of antiquities beneath the ground. The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters is the official starting point for questions about archaeological heritage. I could not verify a current general permission or nationwide prohibition covering every recreational detector search for modern losses. Before taking your detector to a beach or private property, request written guidance on its use, digging and any equipment entry requirements. A property owner’s approval alone does not settle those questions.

Detector Lady recommends: Before travelling with your metal detector, always check the country’s current rules and the conditions for the exact place you want to search.
