Metal Detecting in the Czech Republic
I have much more to share about metal detecting in the Czech Republic. I was born here, I often search here, and I cooperate with the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences. There are opportunities to work with archaeologists, but that does not mean you can search wherever you like. Searching for archaeological finds must take place within authorised archaeological fieldwork, and you cannot simply search archaeological sites on your own. National parks and other protected areas have additional restrictions that need checking with their managers. You also need the landowner’s permission, but this does not replace archaeological authorisation or any other required consent.
Detector Lady recommends: Before travelling with your metal detector, always check the country’s current rules and the conditions for the exact place you want to search.
