Metal Detecting in Cuba

I could not verify a clear general permission for hobby metal detecting in Cuba. The cultural heritage framework requires prior approval for archaeological investigations involving physical intervention, with professional requirements for those directing the work. That is not an ordinary permit to search for historical souvenirs. Before packing your detector, I would separately confirm whether your equipment can enter the country and whether the planned beach or inland search is permitted. Getting equipment through customs should never be treated as permission to search, dig or keep a historical find.
