Metal Detecting in Bolivia

I could not confirm a general national permission for hobby metal detecting in Bolivia. The cultural heritage law places archaeological discoveries, including those not yet found, under state ownership and requires authorisation for interventions affecting cultural heritage. Foreign visitors carrying out heritage research also need the appropriate authorisations. Finding an old object does not make it yours to keep or take home. Before planning a search, check both the national requirements and the conditions set by the relevant local authorities.
