Metal Detecting in Bhutan
I could not verify a general national permission for hobby metal detecting in Bhutan. Activities on State Reserved Forest Land fall under a forestry clearance requirement, but I did not find a specific approval route for recreational detecting. Bhutan also controls the export of cultural property, so finding an old object does not mean you can take it home. I would ask the heritage authorities about both searching and handling discoveries before travelling with a detector.
