Metal Detecting in Belarus

In Belarus, using a metal detector to search for archaeological objects or artefacts is restricted to authorised archaeological research and its participants under the Code on Culture. This is not a general hobby permission, and searching without digging does not automatically avoid the archaeological rules. I could not confirm a separate general permission for searches limited to modern lost items. Before planning any detecting, check the current wording of Article 127 and obtain clarification about your intended activity.
