Metal Detecting in Barbados

I could not verify a clear general permission for hobby metal detecting in Barbados. There are specific restrictions to consider, including rules against excavation within the Barbados Marine Reserve and against disturbing or removing protected material. An antiquities document available on Parliament’s website is presented as a bill, so I would not treat its proposed licence system as confirmed current law. Before searching a beach, ask the National Conservation Commission about that exact location and whether digging or recovering targets is permitted.
