Metal Detecting in Armenia

Armenia’s heritage legislation requires authorisation for archaeological surveys and excavations of monuments. Searching historical sites is therefore not an ordinary hobby activity that becomes acceptable with landowner permission alone. I could not verify a clear national rule covering every form of recreational metal detecting away from archaeological sites. Before planning a search, I would ask the heritage authorities about the exact location and purpose rather than treating the absence of a simple detector guide as permission.
